Gastronomic Tradition: Apostle Santiago day menu

Did you know that the celebration held on 25 July, the day of Apostle Santiago and of Galicia, dates back to a meeting of the Irmandades da Fala in 1919, a Galician cultural and political group, with a nationalist stance, who determined that this celebration would be held each year from 1920. During Francos dictatorship, the celebration was prohibited and was therefore celebrated in secret and by Galician emigrants abroad. It was not until 1979, by decree of the Regional Government of Galicia, that it was established as an official festival of the Autonomous Community of Galicia.

And with all the flavour of Galicia at Punta Vendaval Restaurant, hotel guests and visitors can discover a special menu. On the evening of 24 July they can also enjoy the live performance of the group Vigués La Franga and, under the light of the stars and with the best views over the Arousa Estuary, they will be sure to enjoy the charm of La Toja Island.
